The caretaker of a farm in the Orange Walk District has been killed, and now two co-workers are also missing.
Gumercindo Richards went to the police on Friday to report that he visited his farm at mile 5 on the Honey Camp Road and all three caretakers were missing. He got Juan Sifuentes, one of the caretaker's brothers, from Orange Walk to go and stand in for his missing brother, at 5:35 Friday evening - Sifuentes reported that he'd found his brother Roman Sifuentes dead in a pit latrine. Police retrieved his body from the 12-foot hole and concluded that he'd been killed with a massive chop wound to his head. Police believe he was killed in the kitchen where bloodstains were found and then thrown in the pit. They are now looking for the other two caretakers, also brothers to assist them in their questioning. All three caretakers are undocumented aliens from the Poptun Area of Guatemala.
