The Commission of Inquiry appointed to investigate the affairs of the Development Finance Corporation continues its work and that includes poring through reams of documents that have been turned over.
A release from the Commission today confirms that minutes of board meetings, loan portfolios, documents related to the mortgage securitization program, and documents from the North American Mortgage Securitization Program have been disclosed. The commission members are going over these documents searching for any evidence of wrongdoing. They also say they plan to request more documents. In addition the commission has already received sworn testimonies from DFC personnel. But according to a Commission release, it still needs a forensic auditor to ensure a successful outcome of their investigations, an auditor which government says it can't afford. Still, public hearings are planned and the schedule for those will be publicized once it is finalized.
