With all the legal hurdles in Florida and Belize out of the way, the Ashcroft led BTL Board of Directors is set to meet on Thursday. But not so fast says the Belize Court of Appeals that today threw a wrench into the works.

At a session this morning it announced that it is setting aside three of the four findings made by the Chief Justice in April of this year. At the time, the Conteh judgement ruled that government and Ashcroft's E-com fairly controlled the board of directors 6 to 2. What this announcement now does is throw that into disarray as it seems to reinstate two of the Prosser directors by declaring that there was no authority to move them in the first place. We say "seems to" because no written judgement has been issued, and there is some dispute about the interpretation of today's pronouncement which was made in open court.

We imagine that divergence of interpretations will not last long, as it is surely a victory for the Prosser side, and however slender, it is one his attorneys will surely try to use to drive a wedge into the existing GOB/Ashcroft tandem that controls BTL.
