They're supposed to make the roadways safer but this morning at about 6:00, a police patrol car was the one courting disaster on the Western Highway. Just before 6:00 this morning, this police car, attached to the Belize City Traffic Department, ran off the road at mile 10 and flipped.

Despite the fact that it landed squarely on its top, none of the officers inside were seriously hurt. What could have caused the accident on a straight stretch of road with good traction when it was not raining? Well Police Press Officer G. Michael Reid says it may have been a blowout, but the investigation is not yet concluded.
