A Chinese grocer will spend the Christmas in jail after he pulled a gun on a customer. Yesterday at noon, 20-year-old Tiffany Westby, who works at Subway restaurant on Freetown Road, went across the street to Jusco Plaza to buy a few items. But she got into an argument with the female shop-owner. That's when the shop owner's husband, 32 year old Zhu vin Ruan allegedly took out his licensed chrome 9 millimeter pistol pointed it at Westby, and she claims, threatened that he would kill her. After tempers cooled, he put the gun down, but police will not rest charges.

Ruan was detained and police checked his gun license which is valid. Still, he was charged for aggravated assault. That's a firearm offence and under the new rules it is mandatory that he be remanded to prison. He appeared in court today where.
