Before 11 on Saturday morning, two masked men, one carrying an assault rifle and the other a handgun stormed into Taylor's Alley and opened fire. Taylor's Alley is just off Cemetery Road, across from X-tra House Supermarket, which is always bustling on a Saturday. And Taylor's Alley was also the scene for a shooting on December 17th of last year, which left Lisa Garoy, paralyzed and her infant child with a gunshot wound to his arm.
Well this time, the victim in Taylor's alley is 23-year-old Alvin Cumberbatch.

He was shot twice: once to the right side of his pelvic area and to other to the buttocks. He underwent surgery and has been released; doctors say his outlook for a full recovery is good. Police recovered 8 expended shells along with two slugs that were found lodged in the wall of a home in the alley. Police have detained two men for the shooting.
This is Cumberbatch's second brush with death in less than a year. On the night of June 9th 2005, he was shot in the right foot below the knee as he stood in front of Olympic Restaurant on Cemetery Road, 200 feet from the mouth of Taylor's Lane.
