And while that's good for the police, the results are hardly satisfying for the Alamilla family. They maintain that their brother's death was a homicide and today they told us there's just been too much of a cover up for any of this to be convincing.

Giovanni Alamilla, Eder's Brother
"The family just wants closure on this thing. We can't bring him back but we just want, without a doubt, to know if its suicide or homicide."

Jules Vasquez,
Will there ever be an answer that satisfies this very sad and still grieving family?

Giovanni Alamilla,
"Well no because then if it is ruled then how come we didn't know something was wrong, what was bothering him or something like that. If it is homicide then we need to know who did it."

Jules Vasquez,
So assuming that you'll all be able to intervene and get the evidence, and send it off to someone, and that person also rules it is suicide. Does it end there or does the process in your mind continue until you get the answer that you want?

Giovanni Alamilla,
"It would have to end there because we can't go to the grave and ask him why he did it, if the second opinion rules that it is a suicide. We'll just have to live with that."

Jules Vasquez,
Is your family of the opinion that there has been manipulation of the physical evidence and thus a manipulation of the outcome?

Giovanni Alamilla,
"Well my father and myself have received phone calls from police officers saying that parts of evidence were taken out but we don't any evidence to prove that."

Jules Vasquez,
What does this indicate to you?

Tania Alamilla-Mahler, Eder's Sister
"Jules put one and one together."

Jules Vasquez,
Are you saying there's a conspiracy to misrepresent what actually happened that night?

Tania Alamilla-Mahler,
"Thank you. You said it in your own pretty words. Why are they hiding? Why are they telling different things? Why can't they stick to one thing? I am so frustrated because they keep on lying or they keep on hiding. I don't know what the hell they are hiding. I honestly noh know."

Even though the police have said that it is a closed case, the evidence is still police property. And, if they wish to have another test performed, the Alamillas will have to apply to the DPP to retrieve that evidence for forwarding to another testing agency.
