Three men who were accused of murder were offered bail in the Supreme Court yesterday. The trio: ex-BDF Sergeant Remijio Canul and brothers David and Ricardo Westby appeared before Justice Troadio Gonzalez where they charge of murder against them was reduced to manslaughter. The men had been charged with murder following the stabbing death of Martin Adolphus, a resident of Guinea Grass who died from a wound to his inner thigh on October 21st of 2001.
In trial however it was revealed that there was no evidence of intention to kill Adolphus. With that the prosecutor reduced the charge to manslaughter and the men were offered bail in the sum of $8,000 each. Only Canul was able to meet bail.
