A woman was found dead in her Pomona Valley home this morning and police believe she was murdered. Around 7 am 26 year old Lydia Smith was found face down on her bed with cuts and bruises on her neck. She was fully clothed. Smith was last seen alive 6 hours earlier, at 1 am this morning.
Investigators are examining the possibility that it could have been a crime of passion, and in that regard they are looking at the fact that she had just ended a relationship. Investigators also note that the home had not been burglarized. Her body awaits a post mortem examination at the Southern Regional Hospital.
