You may not be familiar with the name Devon Jones but maybe after tomorrow you will. He stopped by our studios to tell us about a new release he calls "a struggle to survive"; he says it's inspired by his life.

Devon Jones, Poet
"I have poems that deal with life issues and the last one deals with Aids. As you know Aids is one of the number one killer in Belize so…"

Alfonso Noble,
Life issues like what?

Devon Jones,
"Promises from politicians basically. Big man, this morning you wake up and promise things would be better but now there are taxes on chips. That is just disorderly and out of order. My little nephew just has a quarter and he can't afford chips anymore. Would you rather sit down and watch that little baby suffering or encouragement from me to a stranger?"

Alfonso Noble,
Why are you doing this?

Devon Jones,
"Because I am fed-up with the way my country is being run to begin with, the two parties are just the same so…"

Alfonso Noble,
So this is a statement basically?

Devon Jones,
"Basically a statement yes. I encourage everybody to support me because it is local and the money we make from this DVD will go to good use because I got accepted to go to Jamaica for the Calabash Festival for this year so I will use that same money to display Belize in Jamaica in May."

The CD and DVD will be released tomorrow.
