While police have arrested the man believed to have killed Gabb, they are still trying to determine who killed two other men who were also stabbed to death. One of those men is basketball legend Frankie "Fadeaway" Flowers and 7NEWS was there when police found his body.
Alfonso NobleReporting,
This morning at 5:45 am a construction worker found Frankie Flowers' body here at the jutting point of the Marne Boulevard, just outside this fenced property. He had been stabbed to death and multiple wounds all over his upper body, including his head. He had no wallet so police could not identify him. The main clues are a scattering of possessions found on the sidewalk, marked as pieces of evidence. One of the key pieces of evidence is this slipper, believed to be for the killer. At 7 am, after collecting evidence from the scene, the police carted away Flowers' body. He was 55 years old.
Police say this body is very likely related to another that was found hours earlier. Shortly after midnight 41 year old Gregory Lindon Langfiesta was found

dead in the middle of Queen Street at its junction with Daly Street. He had a single stab wound to the middle of his back, what his family told us the act of a coward.

"My brother was cowardly murdered last night around 12 midnight, 1 am, in the vicinity of Copa and Handyside Street."
Alfonso Noble,
Was he there all the time?
Family Member,
"Not really you know because the area that he would mostly frequent is where he hangs with his friends on Barrack Road. It's a surprise completely to our family because our brother is no saint but he is no bad person and he has no enemies and so we are puzzled right now as to the killing ourselves. But we as a family, will make sure the police find who killed him. We are trying to do the best we can, so only time will tell what and of course we are counting on the police department for a quick response on the matter, if they are able to."
The key piece of evidence linking the two is that Langfiesta was found with Flowers' bike, the two had also been known to have been associates. Now police believe that its possible that both stabbings occurred here at the point of Marine Parade and that Langfiesta may have managed to reach all the way to Queen Street. Its just one theory to explain a pair of murders that police believe must be related.
Police have no suspects detained and are continuing to look at the possibility that the killings are related. Flowers rose to prominence in the 1970's when he was a star shooting guard for the Carnation team. At the time of his death, the 55 year old was working at the accountancy of Deloitte Touché Thomatsu.
