And while the PUP's ruthless headline forced Barrow into the unseemly position of defending himself against a complete fabrication, the UDP city council team says it will not be distracted. We caught up with them campaigning in the city, and staying on message.
Zenaida Moya, UDP Mayoral Candidate
"Everybody is in place right now, our whole structure, the structure that is in place in terms of bringing out the voters, everybody is being organized, everybody is being trained: the polling clerks, the counting agents, the greeters-everybody knows their responsibility. Our UDP 11 has been on the campaign trail since September and I can tell you we've visited most of the homes in Belize City and the response is there, we can foresee that we will be victorious come March 1st."
As has been the case with all our municipal election previews, including others airing tonight, we were supposed to have both the PUP and the UDP featured but despite numerous attempts, the PUP public relations team could not, or would not, make arrangement for us to interview any councilor.
