Mexican in Court for Firearm Charges

Police believe he was holed up in a Corozal hotel room planning a major crime on Thursday of last week police detained 34-year-old Mexican national David Frias Rendon for possession of two 9 millimeter pistols namely a Sigsauer and a Berretta pistol along with a total of 43 rounds of ammunition. Since his detention he has been charged with two counts of possessing unlicensed firearms and ammunition. He appeared in Corozal's Magistrate Court where he pleaded guilty. He was fined $10,000 on each charge for a total of $40,000 or in default he is to spend 4 years in jail.
