Off With His Finger...

A 17-year-old young man has been detained after he allegedly chopped off another man's fingers. Around 1:30 on Sunday morning, the young man and 47-year-old Belemo Cowo both of Trinidad Village in Orange Walk got into a fight. Cowo struck the teenager in the back with a machete and that's when the young man wrested away the machete and chopped off Cowo's right index finger and thumb. He claims he was defending himself, but police have detained the young man pending an investigation.
