They are also looking for gunmen in another shooting incident where a police sergeant could have been killed. After 9:00 last night, Sergeant Andrew Ramirez attached to the Major Crimes Unit in Belize City was inside Henry's Restaurant and bar on Central American Boulevard. Two men wearing dark clothing stormed in and one of them jumped over the counter, and pointed a gun at the bartender. Realizing what was happening officer Ramirez drew his firearm but as he did the second assailant who remained at the door of the establishment fired a single shot which tore through Ramirez's shirt right above the waist, missing his mid-section by less than an inch. And while he almost got killed, he did thwart the robbery, as the men ran off with nothing. Ramirez said he didn't shoot because of the danger it could have posed to patrons of the establishment.
