He was shot by Rufus X while he was caught while committing a burglary and today 23 year old Derrick Tillet had his day in court. He appeared in Magistrate's Court where he was found guilty of attempted burglary.

In court, Rufus X testified that on the morning of December 7th of last year he went to check on his apartment building sometime around 1:30. He says when he reached there he saw a man placing a ladder to the side of the building. Not wanting to see any more Rufus took the security guard's shotgun and fired off a shot at the man on the ladder hitting him to the left side of his face, right side of the chest and his left foot.

In court today Tillet did not deny being on the scene and with that Magistrate Margaret McKenzie sentenced Tillet to 5 years in prison. She added that she would have fined him but because he has a previous conviction of grievous harm she would pass a custodial sentence.
