Just as Orange Walk was getting over the news that a 35-year-old woman had stabbed her ex to death with a sharpened nail file when she found him with another woman, last night another savage murder occurred. This time, the victim is an 80-year-old man who was stabbed multiple times. The closest thing police have to an eyewitness is his 26-year-old son. Today our affiliates at Northern Cable Network found him at the scene. Alfonso Noble reports.
Alfonso Noble Reporting,
Police investigators were today out on Progress Street in Orange Walk Town collecting evidence after 80-year-old George Anglin was stabbed to death at his home. A pool of blood under a shed inside the yard tells the tale of the attack on the 80-year-old Anglin. The blood and this man 25-year-old Beres Anglin, the youngest son of the older Anglin are what police investigators are beginning with.
So far police say that last night at 9:30 the younger Anglin went running to the police station in Orange Walk requesting assistance. He told the police that his father called him into a shed to talk when two men who were hiding behind this water vat inside the yard emerged. Anglin says one of the men pointed a gun at him while the other proceeded to grab the 80-year-old man by the neck. The younger Anglin ran off and returned with police. By the time they returned,

the 80-year-old Anglin had already been stabbed as many as 6 times.
Police today combed the scene with the younger Anglin in the hope that he'd be able to provide information but so far they report that he has not provided any valuable information on who may have done it, or why.
Police say they have no clue as to what may have been the motive and no suspects are detained. It's of note that George Anglin Jr., the deceased man's older son was acquitted yesterday on firearm charges. He had been charged along with 5 men and only one was convicted.
