It is an act so devious that it may exceed the definition of evil. We're talking about the accusation against this man: 37-year-old Roy Emmanuel Neal, a resident of St. Matthews Village, who police say has been positively identified as one of two men who abducted a Belmopan woman and her two children, a 3 year old boy and a 10 year old girl.
He is accused of going along with another man who is still at large, and using a gun and a machete to ambush the family in front of their Belmopan home at around 10 on Saturday night. They allegedly forced them back into the vehicle, took charge of it and drove them to a feeder road near Cotton Tree where they picked up another man, then took her outside the car and raped her. They then robbed her of all the money she had, a mere $50 and then took them to a road near Valley of Peace where they again raped her, this time in the car, in front of her children. During this second session, the other men fondled her 10-year-old daughter.
It is a beastly act, and police say that by all appearances it was random and not any calculated act of revenge. So far only Neal has been found and he was today charged for kidnapping, two counts of rape, robbery, indecent assault and aggravated assault. He will appear in Belmopan's Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
