Along with the twenty plus towers scattered across the country's highways, the only real infrastructure left in place to say that there was ever a telecommunications company called Intelco are the poles that the company planted on the Northern Highway. There were some 160 of these put up between miles 35 and 46 on the Northern Highway to facilitate the company at the time to run fiber optic cables to connect the northern districts to its telecommunications network. But now the company is no more and creditors have lined up to lay claim to what is left. But more than creditors want in on the action.

Today we received reports and images to show that someone has been laying claim to the poles on the Northern Highway. At least 9 of them have been cut down from its base and hauled away. There is no indication as to who is responsible but what we do know is that these poles run somewhere between $400 and $500 each. And with no owner laying claim on them it seems that it is a free for all in this secluded area on the Northern Highway near Rhaburn's ridge at mile 39.
