Burglar Shot By Chinese Grocer

Belize City Police have two men detained, one of them recovering from a gunshot to the ankle after they were caught burglarizing a Chinese store.

25-year-old Bing Quan Chen told police that at around 12:00 last night he made checks at his sister's store on Mahogany Street. He found two men inside the store who tried to escape. Without much hesitation Chen pulled out his licensed 380 pistol and fired a single shot that caught one of the suspects in his right ankle.

The man now identified as 30 year old Dwight Moody along with a second suspect have been detained by police pending charges of burglary.
