On the morning of June 22nd two masked men stormed into the main office of Anglican Cathedral College and stole $12,000. The 12 grand was registration money, and, already a month into the new semester - the high school needs it back. Now, they are asking for your help. The school will try and raise the stolen money at an all-day telethon tomorrow at the Battlefield Park. Michelle Thurton is a science teacher at ACC and is one of the organizers.

"It is an event that we are having to raise funds. As you all may already know, in June of this year the school was robbed of some funds and so this is an effort that we are putting out to raise some much needed funds. It should be a very grand event and a lot of fun. We will have the ACC music band playing all day so there'll be enough entertainment. We'll have barbecue on sale and also a bake sale. And there's other attractions such as an HIV/Aids awareness booth as well as a booth that will be selling stationeries. We will also have a grand raffle that we will be done and it will be raffled at three in the evening.

What we will have is a booth set up in which people can call in and make pledges for the day, whatever size of funds you would like to pledge. We are really looking forward to people supporting us. We have two numbers that people will be able to call in: at 227-1661 and 2271663. So if you are not able to come out tomorrow and support us, then you can call in and make your pledges.

We have started into this school year, we would say, in the red so definitely the funds are much needed. There is a lot going on at ACC. We are trying to improve the whole environment and buildings and the facilities that we have here for the school. So it is very important that we try to raise the funds. We can't rely only on fees and tuition alone, we always have to do fundraising."

The telethon begins at 9 tomorrow morning and goes until 6 in the evening. Those numbers again to call in your pledges are 227-1661 or 227-1663.
