Last night a gang of thieves used the cover of darkness to raid classrooms at Holy Redeemer Primary School on North Front Street. The heartless criminals broke into to several classrooms and stole just about everything they could, from water bottles to magic markers. Standard one teacher Desiree Mejia told us what she saw when she reported to class this morning.
Desiree Mejia, Teacher
"First of all the children greeted me, because they were here before me, and I found the window was open and when I came inside there was garbage on the floors and some of the books were ransacked because they went into the cupboards, and they threw the books on the floor and that is basically what I found this morning when I came."
Keith Swift,
What would you say to who did this?
Desiree Mejia,
"To remember this is a school. We are here with one thing in mind, or one motive, and it is to learn and when they come in and see something like that, they are traumatized because the first thing they want to know is why they came to our school and why they came to our class and I can't offer any answers to those questions."
The school says has made a police report but no one has been arrested.
