Belmopan police expect to make arrests shortly in the case of two young women who were raped at the University of Belize's student dormitory in Belmopan. Today investigators confirmed that the investigation is near completion and they will be arresting the two accused young men shortly.

On Sunday October 15th two young women were at the UB dormitory when they were allegedly raped. The Reporter newspaper today printed a gruesome account of the rape by an anonymous male dorm resident who helped the young women after they had been victimized.

It was a brutal and terrifying assault, but it was not being investigated, because neither the University of Belize nor the students had made a formal complaint. So, it was not until Thursday of last week that the investigation picked up steam, and now police are preparing to arrest the two young men who are reportedly students from orange walk.
