DPP Kirk Anderson has asked the Police Internal Affairs Department to see if there's enough evidence to build a case for harm that would implicate Superintendent Chester Williams, Corporal Bonilla, and Constables Fuller and Palomo.
That's the team that went to Dangriga to crack a murder case earlier this year. They got a confession, but the wife of the accused ringleader says Williams and his crew forced it out of him.
As we've reported, Anderson has sent a memorandum to the Internal Affairs Department, which has fuelled tension between Superintendent Williams's CIB Office and the DPP. And while tension between those offices is always thick, there may be some détente soon, as 7NEWS has confirmed that Anderson has written to government indicating that he is leaving the office at the end of the year.
