Andre Swazo Gets 10 Years for Heston Castillo Killing

He pleaded guilty to manslaughter when he appeared before Justice Troadio Gonzalez on November 22nd, and today Andre Swazo was sentenced for the May 2005 killing of his former brother in law, 21-year-old Heston Castillo. Swazo was originally charged with murder but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter.

Today Justice Gonzalez told Swazo that his plea saved the court time and money and noted that he had a clean record before the killing. With that in his favour, he sentenced him to 10 years in prison.

The two had been arguing over Swazo's sister, with whom Castillo shared a child.
