The third annual Lord Rhaburn Music Awards is set for this Friday. The show is both an awards event and a funky trip down memory lane as Rhaburn's retinue of musical talent includes some of the musical giants of yesteryear such as Prof "Showtime" Drummond, Codrington Pascasio and Norman Ysaguirre. We caught up with some of those stars at rehearsals today at the Bellevue.

Prof "Showtime" Drummond, Performer
"One of the main reasons why we are here with shows like these is to bring back the shows that Belizeans are used to and have lost it for a while. As a matter of fact, as you know, we are getting to the point where we might be going out so we have to instill and pass this legend over to the new breed so this can continue. This is not something that we want to fade away. That is why we are here to bring it back alive to the Belizean people."

Leroy Castillo, Performer
"I am honored to be playing along with these guys. Some of the guys I used to hear about while growing up in the music and now that I have this opportunity to play alongside man like Mr. Ysaguierre, like Junie Crawford, and Mr. Pablo Clarke--this is a feeling you can't explain."

Norman Ysaguierre, Performer
"We have a very good time together and as you'll hear Friday night, these guys, everyone reads, and apart from reading, they are professionals and we improvise and we do anything. We are free."

Junie Crawford, Performer,
"We really do have a strong band and I really think that, I hope that it remains that way. I am hopeful, I think it will."

Jules Vasquez Reporting.
Chris I know you've been a part of student bands, professional bands, jazz bands, and now you are playing with a monster horn section, these guys have some years on them. Is that intimidating for you?

Chris Bradshaw, Performer
"Now because these guys, it is not like you are playing with guys who are proud and cocky. These guys are, most of them are really good teachers and good friends and I am playing with people who love music and people who know how to deal with people too."

Prof "Showtime" Drummond,
"We are the real Belizeans of this time. We are the Belizeans that you are supposed to be supporting and come out and support us. If you come remember you are going to see 'Showtime.'"

Showtime is Friday night at 9:00 at the Bliss Center.
