On Monday escape artist Dennis Quilter did it again when he jumped out of a prison bus at the Magistrate's Court. He has been on the run since Monday morning and now a cash reward is being offered for his re-capture. We'll tell you about the reward later...but first to one woman who doesn't want her son to be captured, at least not by the police. Elaine Arnold Humes is Quilter's mother and she says she wants Dennis to turn himself in. She hasn't seen or heard from Dennis since he escaped and today Humes made a public plea for her son to surrender to her so that she can take him to the police. She says she fears that if police hunt down Dennis Quilter, they'll kill him.

Elaine Arnold Humes, Dennis Quilter's Mother
"I just want to tell him to please come to my house in Belmopan or please come and meet me at the health center that I work so that I can take him in myself. I don't want the police to try and hurt him or kill him, please."

Keith Swift,
Your escaped on Monday. Has he tried to contact you since?

Elaine Arnold Humes,
"No I just saw it and heard it on the news that he has escaped. When I heard he ran away it was shocking to me. Like how he is on the run I know that they would hurt him so please don't hurt him. I don't want them to hurt him. I don't want them to hurt my son. I don't want them to hurt him. It stresses me out everyday that I am worrying. It really does."

Dennis Quilter is already serving a 9 and a half year prison sentence for a conviction for burglary and escape. On Monday he was on his way to court for another burglary charge he is facing. A concerned citizen who has a history with Quilter has offered $3,000 cash reward for information leading to his recapture. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Quilter can either call the nearest police station or crime stoppers at 0-800-922-TIPS.
