And while police solved the Jomo Lamb murder in less than 24 hours, they haven't been so lucky with last weekend's murders of Earl Figueroa and Albert Castillo. Figueroa you may recall was killed with a bullet to the heart on the seaside at the corner of Southern Foreshore and South Street on Friday night by men on bicycles. Albert Castillo was stabbed to death inside the home of his girlfriend on West Canal just hours later. Though unrelated, both murders are still unsolved and this afternoon CIB Chief Superintendent Chester Williams asked for the public's help.

Supt. Chester Williams, C.I.B. Commander
"The murder of Earl Figueroa and the murder of Albert Castillo. I will appeal to the community, anyone who may have information in relation to these two murders to kindly feel free to come forward to the police or call the 922 tip number and pass on whatever information they believe may be able to assist us in this investigation. We would really like to make some inroads on them. We have been getting information but not enough to make an arrest. So anyone who believes that they may be able to assist us, I would appeal to them to feel free to come forward and pass on whatever information to us."

The Crime Stoppers tip line is 0-800-922-TIPS.
