Last night at 9:30, 17-year-old Byron Canto was riding a bicycle on the Northern Highway when just a few feet from the Esso Gas Station, two men rode up beside him; one of them took out a chrome handgun, and threw him to the ground with it.

Canto tumbled into a drain and the dark skinned male slapped Him across the face with the pistol. And while he did that, his accomplice snatched Canto's knapsack with a cell phone, a pair of tennis shoes and $150 cash inside.

A short while after, and even before a report could be made, a police patrol team saw two men in the West Landivar area acting suspiciously. They searched them, and found all of Canto's stolen items, as well as a fake firearm.

But again, no report had been made, so they didn't know about the armed robbery, they just knew that the stuff seemed hot. The picture would only come together a short while after when Canto called his own cell phone, which the men had been carrying. Police answered and Canto told them that it was his phone, which had just been stolen.

Two teenagers, 17-year-old Cleo Cherrington and a 16 year old have been charged for armed robbery.
