On Friday morning, businessman David Courtenay was killed when he ran off the Western Highway between miles 20 and 21, and less than 36 hours later, another man would die in a traffic mishap, just 70 yards from where Courtenay crashed.
Around 2:00 on Saturday afternoon 27-year-old Leroy Trapp was driving a fully loaded concrete truck to Belmopan when he lost control of the truck and ran off the road. The truck flipped violently and Trapp was crushed inside while his sideman 22-year-old Andy Williams received only minor injury.
The truck was the property of Maheia Construction.
