He stabbed a man to death and pleaded guilty in court, and today 65-year-old Francisco Orellano was sentenced. After hearing a mitigation plea from an official from the Hattieville prison, Justice Troadio Gonzalez sentenced Orellano to twelve years in prison. Orellano had been charged with murder for killing Andres Torres, but last week he pled guilty to manslaughter.
Orellano killed Torres on Gibnut Street in January of 2005 after a dispute over money Torres owed him. Justice Gonzalez took into consideration Orellano's age and also deteriorating health condition since he suffers from hypertension and diabetes.
