But for Opposition Leader Dean Barrow, he says Friday is the point of no return and the UDP hopes to force the government into retreat.
Hon. Dean Barrow,
"That House meeting represents the Rubicon, if the PUP representatives succeed in initiating and approving a process that will ultimately end in having some new supplementary appropriations bill come to Parliament making provisions for the payment of this debt, that's really the end of the road. A new government can hardly take that back.
It is in that kind of climate that the Belizean people need to realize that really in terms of trying to stop any arrangements from repayment of this money, next Friday will represent the last stand. Everybody then needs to be there. Everybody needs to be making the point to PUP Ministers and to PUP representatives that if you do this in the teeth of the unrelenting opposition of the people of this country, your fate electorally, at the very least, is sealed."
The UDP held a strategy session this afternoon in preparation for next week.
