37-year-old Alfred Billary has been remanded to prison tonight after he told his wife that he would cut her and her 3-year-old daughter into tiny pieces. It's domestic terror but police say it's more than that; they say Billary is attempting to suppress evidence.
That because in April of 2006 Billary was accused of stabbing his common law wife Erma Berthran and his 12 year old son. He was charged for attempted murder. But when he got out of prison on remand he asked Berthran if he could come back to live with her and she said yes. That was in April of this year and she says she permitted it because she was afraid of him.
Well those fears proved justified on May 31st when he told her that if she testifies in the attempted murder case against him, he'd cut up both she and her daughter.
Today in court, he pleaded not guilty to attempted suppression of evidence. But the prosecutor objected to bail because the attempted murder trial is going to the Supreme Court shortly. So he has been remanded until June 21st.
