It's called the Moonfall Cabaret, starring Meredith Kennedy, and she'll be performing for one night only at the Bliss Center. It takes place tomorrow night and it'll be a one woman show. Kennedy, who has been performing for 5 years, says it'll be a mix of music, from classical to pop, from Andre Boccelli to Whitney Houston. We got a preview today.
Meredith Kennedy, Performer
"What I am doing is starting out with phantom of the opera and then moving into musical theatre, and then we are completing shifting gears and going into country and western, with a little kind of standup comedy thrown in, and then we are going to finish up with the going more into the pop style, popular style like Whitney Houston, Andre Boccelli. Basically what I did is I took all of my favorite kinds of music and chosen a number of songs that I love to sing and created a whole bunch of different styles into one cabaret.
Basically it has got so much variety really that whatever type of music you are accustomed to listening to, whatever you like, you will probably find it and then you will probably also maybe find some music that you haven't really heard too much before, that you are not really familiar with, and that is a good chance to kind of do something new."
Showtime tomorrow night is 8 pm and tickets are $30. Next week she takes her show on the road to Belmopan where she'll stage a New World Concert at the George Price Center. Funds raised from both shows will go to assist the Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
