As Senior Superintendent Williams noted - Gerald "Shiny" Tillet is detained. But Shiny isn't in custody at their Queen Street Station, he is under police guard at the KHMH. Tillet's family says his jaw was broken by the police. We were unable to speak to Shiny since he under police guard but we did speak to his common-law wife Gennel Williams. She says her husband's jaw was broken in two places.
Gennel Williams, Shiny's Girlfriend
"He went into the operating theatre this morning, he has already come

out. This jaw is broken, he has on his braces. It looked like the two of them are broken because the doctor says the next one too. His face is swollen, he has a bust behind his head and he got a knock in his back. He says all he did was ask the police if they could please remove him from the cell in the back he has asthma and so he didn't want to be way in the cell in the back and the police told him to come so he can be moved and by the time he came out, the police whapped him in his back, his head, and then he whapped him in his jaw and broke it.
I think they say they want to have some meeting with them but they don't have to go on like how they act; the way how they came yesterday and went on because someone got shot in their foot too. The person was at the hospital and the police wanted to say it is a cut from a zinc but it is not a cut because when the x-ray came back we saw it and the man had a half of bullet right in his foot, right to ankle.
That isn't right because whenever they come around here they always want to abuse and do a lot of things and that isn't right because it is someone from here who is dead. It is not someone from here who did the killing or anything."
Senior Superintendent Williams declined to comment on the allegation of brutality by police on Shiny Tillet. Up to news time, the principal personalities from the two rival factions were still detained.
This evening Brian Brown's mother joined the chorus of discontent. She said that this morning officers barged into her son's home on Jimmy Dyer Street with guns on the ready. Brown, another George Street general, had been charged for trying to kill James Young along with the now deceased Alpheus Smith. Both men were cleared of those allegations when young refused to press charges.
