Police have two men in custody who are accused of an industrial heist. It happened at Buttercup Estates, which is a housing development just outside of Burrell Boom. The owners of the Buttercup Development, Rodla Construction has run copper wiring in the ground. But on Tuesday, three thousand feet of that valued at $30,000 was ripped out of the ground and stolen. That represented 80% of all the wiring that had been laid.

To protect against any further theft, Rodla employees were put to sleep at the site. And last night, they were there between 10 and 11 when the thieves came back for what was left.

But they didn't know they were being watched. Peering from inside one of the houses, the employees saw a Chevy pickup truck pull up and three men got out. They started to haul the remaining wires, and that's when the Rodla employees set after them.

They piled into the pickup and charged off in the direction of Burrell Boom. But they didn't get far, because speeding through the village, they lost control, crashed into a truck with logs, and careened into a drain. One of the men escaped into the night but the other two were apprehended by the same Rodla employees.

They were delivered to the Ladyville Police and are being held pending charges. Both men received some injuries in the collision and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
