This afternoon 24-year-old Jervis Lockewood was charged for possession of what police say was a bomb. Police say that they busted Lockewood with the bomb on Tuesday night when they searched him and a group of boys who were "acting suspiciously" on Caesar Ridge Road. According to police, they found the bomb in Lockewood's pocket. But Lockewood's family says he is innocent. His mom Anna Carcamo says her son was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Anna Carcamo, Mother of Accused
"While he was coming from the basketball court the neighbor asked him where was her son because he had taken her son with him and he didn't bring him back and the curfew is on. So he went back, he turned around the barracks, where we live, and the same time he heard like something sailed over his head and like touched him. When he looked it was a bag that dropped and so he bent down and picked up the back. While he was coming up back to see what was in the bag, the police told him to freeze. When the police told him to freeze, the police looked in the bag and asked him if he knew it was a bomb. He told the police he didn't know it was a bomb but the person just threw it and then he wanted to see what would have hit him. But then the police roughed him up and then they took him and they had him there from Tuesday. They didn't want us to see him or nothing.

The statement said that they took the bomb out of his pocket. And if you noticed him when he passed here he had on a jersey. A jersey doesn't have pockets."

Keith Swift,
So your son was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Anna Carcamo,
"Just that I could say; he passed the wrong spot at the wrong time."

Lockewood was released on $5,000 bail. He is due back in court on August 28th. Police haven't specified what type of bomb it was but they say it was a hot dog shaped object with the words, "danger and explosive" written on it in both English and Spanish.
