Their home on Louise Bevans Street was destroyed by fire on Tuesday night and while they've been making appeals for help, the Harris family says it's like no one has been listening. On the verge of tears, a desperate Adeline Harris came to our studios this afternoon pleading for help from the public. She says she's lost everything and is homeless. But she says her plight's been ignored.
Adeline Harris, Fire Victim
"This is a politics thing and I don't play politics because when I had it, I didn't go to them because I didn't have a need but when I had a need I am asking them to please support me and stop treating us this way because we need."

So you lost everything in the fire?
Adeline Harris,
"Everything, all documents; everything I own. Only this clothes which I have on, this same clothes I have."
Emaun Hyde,
So what do you need?
Adeline Harris,
"We need shelter because I am staying with somebody but when they go to work, right now I have to go and try to find somewhere else to stay for tonight. I haven't seen a Minister. I go to look for them and when I get there, all they are doing is turning me around about how I have to go to this one, go to that one and then that one sends me to another one. This is a good country, the Prime Minister said but the treatment I am getting is rude and it us unfair. I don't think it is just at all."
Emaun Hyde,
"Is it only you or do you have kids?
Adeline Harris,
"I have my daughter and my son and my little grandbaby who lost everything. If any high authority, Minister or somebody, try and help me with some food or try to help me in some way, some shelter or some kind help which I will be thankful for."
