He was accused of killing a 16 year old inside a nightclub nearly three years ago and this afternoon a jury found Dean Hyde guilty of murder. He is accused of pulling the trigger on Dual Wagner Jr. who was gunned down inside Bismark Nightclub on October 9th of 2004.
In this case, the star witness against Hyde was Carlton Lord Junior who testified that he saw the shooting. And while Lord was the star witness this time, in October of last year he was the reason why a nolle pros was entered and Hyde was freed. That is because back then, Lord said he knew nothing about the incident and claimed that the police set him up. Lord later revealed that he refused to testify because someone made death threats against his mother.
Well threat or no threat, Lord testified this time around. Dean Hyde also took the stand in his own defense. He said he was at his aunt’s house the night of the murder. But the jury didn’t buy it and a jury took a little over three and a half hours to come up with a verdict.
Hyde was defended by Senior Counsel Simeon Sampson while deputy DPP Cheryl Lynn Branker-Taitt was the prosecutor. Justice Troadio Gonzalez will sentence Dean Hyde on August 13th.
