An Indian businessman was shot during a robbery attempt on Saturday and he didn’t go down without a fight. On Saturday afternoon around 2:00, 41-year-old Deepak Gidwani was inside his store, VRJ’s Fast Food, on West Canal when two men entered. One of the men wore a stocking over his face and was armed and told Gidwani not to move.

But Gidwani grabbed his licensed 38 pistol and ran outside. That’s when the armed assailant opened fire. That led to a shoot out since Gidwani pulled out his licensed.38 revolver and returned fire.

Gidwani was hit in the midsection, while the assailants got away, police believe without any cash. Gidwani is reported in a stable condition at the KHMH.
