And while our last murder was discovered this weekend, it happened sometime before. You may recall the little boy we told you about last week 3-year-old Alejandro Damien Gonzalez who was found wandering on the Southern Highway. Police identified his 19-year-old mother but could not find her. Well they found her dead on Sunday and it appears she suffered a most violent end. Yesterday afternoon, acting on information received, police went to an area about 2 miles off the Hopkins Road where they found the body of Myrna Figueroa. It was murdered and was very decomposed.
She is believed to have been killed on Tuesday September 11th when she and her son were lured out of their home in Silk Grass, and then abducted, taken to the area on the Hopkins Road, raped and killed. After that, her three-year-old son was left sleeping under a bus stop on the Southern Highway. He was found wandering along the road a few hours later.
Police have arrested and charged four men for the crimes. They are: Miguel Herrera Jr. 20yrs old; Norris Kelly 30 years old; Miguel Herrera Sr., 45 years old; and Lucio Herrera, 18yrs old. One of the men are believed to have had a previous relationship with her.
