He is the emperor on trial for murdering his empress but today Louie Ganzie told the judge and jury that he didn't do it. In fact Ganzie, whose legal name is Louie Gentle, says he wasn't even there.
This morning he took the stand in his own defense. He told the court on January 2nd of this year, the night before Takeisha Keisha Sutherland was killed, he

was at a friend's house on Sarstoon Street the entire night. In his words to the court - he was listening to music and smoking weed. The friend who was alibi witness is Roy Zelaya and this afternoon Ganzie's attorneys Dickie and Darrel Bradley called him to the stand. He testified that he was with Ganzie from 10 pm to 4 am.
His alibi matched Ganzie's account, but what it did not match was information that zelaya had given investigating officer Nicholas Palomo. Palomo took the stand this afternoon and rebutted Zelaya's testimony. Palomo told the court that he visited Zelaya on the morning of January 3rd, right after the murder and all he had to say then was that Ganzie had showed up at his house acting "jumpy" and asked him for $50.
Tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m., both sides will be addressing the jurors and the judge will sum up; and there could be a verdict by the end of the day.
