Gunman Targets Off-Duty Cop

An off duty police officer was shot at over the weekend. 31 year old Mark Humes, who is attached to the Crimes Investigations Branch, says that around midnight on Saturday, he was standing at number 22 Yabra Road talking to his cousin Anthony Grant and Daniel Faber when he heard four gunshots. Corporal Humes says he turned around and that's when he saw a man with a hat pulled down over his face with a nine millimeter pistol. Corporal Humes says the gun was pointed directly at them and they dashed for cover. 11 more shots were fired but no one was injured. Police are investigating and do have a suspect.
