A new CD of Christmas carols was released today. But this is Christmas with a twist - a Caribbean twist. The CD is called Caribbean Christmas mix. There are 10 Christmas favorites on it - including "O Holy Night" and the "First Noel" - remixed in reggae, soca or dancehall styles. Horace Bryce sang and Kendoyll Simpson mixed the rhythms - all on his home computer. Both are young men from Belize City and they stopped by studios and gave us a listen.
Kendoyll Simpson, Producer
"Well everybody has the old time Kenny Rogers Christmas CD and we said this year we want to try something new. So decided we will just give it a little Caribbean flavor, hype up the thing a little bit. It's a local production. I relive its well done and we should be proud of Belizeans to have something to present internationally."
Horace Bryce, Performer
"It is a Belizean production. W e as Belizeans need to see each other moving forward in this industry and we as young people we are striving to meet our goals and looking forward to other things in life. So I think you should buy this CD and support us in a worthy cause. "
The CD is available widely for $25. You can listen to clips or buy it online at http://www.myspace.com/brycesimpsonbze.
