Convicted murderer Louie Ganzie will spend the rest of his life in jail. 10 days ago a jury convicted Ganzie of murdering his common law wife Keisha Takiesha Sutherland - and today he was sentenced by Justice Troadio Gonzalez. Ganzie could have been given the death penalty but he didn't. And instead of begging for mercy - today at sentencing Ganzie proclaimed his innocence.
His attorney Darrell Bradley did however beg for leniency, saying that if given a second chance - Ganzie will continue working with youths. That is because prior to his arrest for murder - Ganzie had worked with CYDP and Youth for the Future. But for all the good he has done and good he promises to do, Justice Troadio Gonzalez told Ganzie that he showed no remorse. Gonzlalez opted against the death penalty because -while gruesome, it wasn't the worst of the worst and Justice Gonzalez says he believed that Ganzie is capable of reform.
