Three years ago Paul Tillett was shot in the face and back. He told police that 15-year-old Kenroy Humes was the gunman. Well Humes is now 18 years old but a jury won’t ever get to judge him. That’s because the victim Paul Tillett refuses to testify. Crown counsel Douglas Carr entered a nolle pros against Tillett which allowed him to walk out of court a free man. Tillett apparently doesn’t want to testify because he fears for his life. He was shot on May 27th of 2004 as he drove out of Bird’s Isle. He says Humes approached him and fired a shot to his right cheek. The prosecution had two other eyewitnesses lined up to testify against Kenroy Humes. Under the law Humes can still be rearrested.
