He was an inmate at the Hattieville Prison serving 5 years for burglary but tonight - 23 year old Kevin Dawson – known on the street as “Passam” – is free after he pulled a switcheroo on police at the Queen’s Street Police Station. It occurred this afternoon when “Passam” Dawson was transported from the Hattieville Prison to the police station to be arraigned for drug trafficking. Prison authorities allege that they busted him with 249 grams of cannabis. But it seems Dawson came down to Belize City

and didn’t plan to return to the Hattieville Prison. That is because while at the Queen’s Street Station – he switched clothes and exchanged charge sheets with 21 year old Frederick Flowers. Flowers was there for drug possession.
So when they reached the Magistrate’s Court, Dawson went into the court posing as Frederick Flowers and was arraigned for drug possession. He pled guilty and ordered to pay $300. He then went on his way – a free man. He left the real Frederick Flowers to face the drug trafficking charge. But on his way into the courtroom – Frederick Flowers chickened out and told police who he really was. He claimed that Dawson threatened him and also gave him a gold chain.
Of course the real Kevin Dawson was long gone. He is wanted tonight. Both men will be charged for a mischievous act. Dawson was scheduled to be released on May 4th – apparently he couldn’t wait.
