As the police personnel assigned to keep order at Magistrate’s Court, they’re the ones who usually police the courthouse, escorting prisoners to and from the cell, but in a cruel twist of fate, today 33 year old Special Constable, John Myvette, and 26 year old Police Constable, Alister Casey, were the ones in front of the court.
They were arraigned in the #1 CourtRoom in front of Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb-McKenzie, with one count of wounding. They were charged for beating Kevin “Possum” Dawson- who had tricked the court into freeing him. The ones who should have been most embarrassed by Dawson’s hijinks were court cops Myvette and Casey. Dawson claims that after he turned himself in, they put a beating on him. A doctor classified it as wounding, and after an internal investigation, the pair were charged.
