In our last newscast, we told you about a loaded container truck that was hi-jacked by 7 armed men in 3 vehicles on the Coastal Road on Tuesday night. Well the truck and its 40 foot container have been found – stripped bare. The tandem was discovered 250 yards off George Price Avenue in Belmopan; the container was open with nothing inside.
But today’s Reporter states that the container had raised a flag at the Customs Department but by the time they tried to track it down, driver Edson Moh was heading to Dangriga with it. The Customs Department was trying to get it back into the compound in Belize City but before they could, Moh was jacked on the Coastal Highway. We could not reach the Customs Department to confirm that report.
But the really big question is what could have been in the container that was so illicit – to have raised a late flag at Customs – and so precious – as to have warranted a jacking by 7 armed men in 3 vehicles? Those questions remain unanswered tonight.
