One year ago he survived sixty two stab wounds to his back and tonight twenty three year old fisherman Jermaine Jones is back in the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. This time he is being treated for several gunshot wounds he received early this morning. Jones, who remains in a serious condition in the post operative ward was shot to the left side of the cheek, left arm and ankle. The family did not wish to talk about the shooting and at this time it is not known why Jermaine Jones was shot.
A preliminary police investigation reveals that around one twenty five this morning, Jones and a woman were walking on Johnson Street when a young man described as tall, slim and fair skinned came from behind and fired several shots. The shooter then ran towards Cemetery Road, jumped on a bicycle and then rode off unto Croton Lane. Belize City police have no leads.
